Our Story

About

How we got our start

The origin of the word is Alkhadar or Al Khadar, and Mkhadar means dark night, black clouds, and Chai Mkhadar means that the tea leaves are cooked in boiling water for a period of time until it becomes heavy and black in color.

We’re the cozy neighborhood place with a laid-back yet hip vibe, where dishes as well as options like salads and sandwiches, are just a few of the mouthwatering choices that you can expect in the place that redefines breakfast and lunch. We’re the gathering spot where friends and family come for breakfast, colleagues meet for coffee or lunch and everyone has a restaurant experience like never before. We invite you to settle in and stay for a bit—or if you’re short on time, call ahead and pick up your order to go. We’re open daily for breakfast, lunch and brunch. So pull up a stool, snag a spot on the patio or settle into an inside table—we look forward to welcoming you.
